Since qualifying in 1992, David has practiced exclusively in family law, advising clients on all aspects of the law relating to relationships and marriage breakdown and including the legal and financial implications of living together and the legal and financial consequences of separation.
In May 2004, Josiah-Lake Solicitors, based in Soho, was established.
An active member of Resolution (formerly the Solicitors' Family law Association), David sits on its London Region Committee. He is also a member of the Law Society's Family Law Panel, the Gay Business Association and of the Lesbian and Gay Lawyers Association.
David is an author and contributing editor for Butterworths' Family Law Service, for which he recently contributed a section on the law relating to Civil Partnerships and Sweet and Maxwell's The Lawyer's Factbook. He has contributed to Rayden and Jackson on Divorce and co-authored Barlow's 3rd edition of Cohabitants and the Law.
David is not only a collaborative family lawyer but is also a member of the New York State Bar and sits on its Committee on Minorities in the Profession.
David has also advised on family law storylines for the BBC's long running series Casualty and Doctors.
