Frequently asked questions

Welcome to QueerPod

QueerPod is a group of lesbian and gay lawyers who are specialists in gay relationships. We are all experienced family lawyers who have joined together to offer a new option - collaborative law - to our lesbian and gay clients. We also have expertise in the law on same sex parenting and legal issues affecting transgendered and transsexual people. To find out more about us click here.

Collaborative law is a new approach designed for negotiating agreements in advance of forming a civil partnership and to keep couples out of court if there are difficulties later on. We can help if you are contemplating living together with your partner, forming a civil partnership or simply just want information on your legal position from someone who understands gay relationships.

QueerPod members work together with couples to form agreements and resolve disputes by negotiating constructively, minimising conflict and focusing on what is important to you. Click here for more information on collaborative law.

Examples of our work include:

Couples buying a home together and agreeing the terms of ownership
Couples seeking advice before forming a civil partnership
Couples separating and dissolving civil partnerships
Couples separating and making arrangements for parenting
Couples thinking about having children together, including the legal aspects of using a donor or surrogate
Inheritance and other family issues.

Talk to QueerPod for legal advice that's as individual as your relationship.
