Do you have to be lesbian or gay to use QueerPod?
None of the Collaborative Lawyers in QueerPod have an exclusively lesbian or gay legal practice. Indeed, as part of both their general practice and their wider Collaborative Practice our members deal with people in a variety of family type situations and in many different forms of relationships. This obviously includes couples in an opposite sex relationship, be it those who have children, are living together or are either entering into a marriage or going through a divorce.
Our members are also uniquely placed to assist people with legal or family issues in matters involving transgendered or transsexual people.
Our members act as Collaborative Lawyers (and solicitors and mediators) in all of these situations. However, the difference with retaining a member of QueerPod as your Collaborative Lawyer (or indeed solicitor or mediator) is that you can be reassured that they are familiar with legal, social and other issues that effect lesbian and gay people.
It is also often the case, though not exclusively, that people in a same-sex relationship feel more comfortable if their lawyer is also lesbian or gay. QueerPod members are all lesbian or gay.
